Breaking away from the alphabet to post some work from the artists of The Bloomsbury Group. An exhibit of their work is at my college currently, and I would like to share some of it. These posts are poorly taken camera phone pictures, and one has to account for the glare in the glass from the gallery lights, and the reflection of, well, me in some of these pieces.
Artist: Vanessa Bell
Title: Sketch for Durbins mural
Year: 1911
Medium: Oil and Wash on Board
Although there are some pretty substantial paintings, drawings and woodcuts in the exhibit, I might have to say that this sketch is one of my favorite pieces. I know it's hard to see, but in haste it is difficult to take good photographs of art. The figure is so intriguing to me, and I can't help but keep my eyes glued to the piece.
